I spend lot of hours online, it is not about social media but also doing research for school project, searching for jobs and checking out accommodation ads. Because of this great World Wide Web we spend so much time online. Searching and engaging seems to also come with some unexpected consequences (both bad and good).
My list of some of those consequences:
1Online banking, Transacting money through online banking have changed paying bills which could take all day to just a few minutes…
2. Getting for more information as fast as possible, and it doesn’t take much time to find it
3. Talking and catching up with friends who are in oversees, it’s like they’re just around the corner and have never left.
4. Discovering an old school buddy from primary or secondary years, brings lots of memories and you can hoop up with the person again and be friends again
5. Looking for reviews of a product or service in advance of a possible purchase – its helpful to know about other stuff experiences when taking into account of something original
6. Most of us do not receive a handwritten birthday card like before, a bit of a sentimental-I tend to hold onto these things and loved the little thoughtful notes … precious. These days… Facebook or an email seems to do the trick- its impersonal man!
7. Sometimes talking to people you don’t even know – it’s very boring because they always ask who you are. Where do you come from? etc, it happened to me via facebook.
8. Forgot your password?” … thankfully just about every site is equipped to “reset” those gazillion passwords we accumulate.
9. Freedom of expression!! – I just love the fact that I can air my views, concerns and opinions with no consideration of censorship at all
10. I believe our life spray across group of social media networks… there is no such thing as secrets and don’t even try to keep anything to yourself… if its not on your page somewhere – its on a friend’s or somewhere
